Another Go Around....

Alright, so I've been so inspired by all these amazing teacher blogs I have been reading lately, that I decided to give this whole blog thing another go around. This is my 3rd blog to create, and each of the other two have exactly one post...yes, only one. So, we will see how it goes. School starts on Monday and I feel like I still have a long ways to go in being prepared. Luckily, thanks to tpt and awesome blogging, my classroom is looking super duper cute. My lesson plans for week one are completed, in large part thanks to Amy Lemons from Stepintosecondgrade. My classroom is also headed in the right direction with the help of my student teacher that I found out I was getting today, and who spent the day helping me in my room.

This is going to be my 4th year teaching and I'm having pretty mixed feelings about it. Let me explain...
last year was a pretty tough year for me in the teaching realm. On August 10th, my handsome little man was born.
I told you he was handsome!

Obviously, I missed the beginning of the school year, in my case the first 6 weeks. I had a great long term sub, and had done lots of planning, so while I worried a lot to begin with, I pretty much forgot about all that once this little bundle of joy entered the world. Now as many of you may know, going back to work after having a baby is HARD! Who would want to leave that little serious face!? And, I have to be honest when I say I did not have the best attitude about it. But...with a lot of encouragement from my teammates, a little sympathy from my husband, and a whole lot of grace from God I made it through the year!

So now, here we are, back at the beginning of the school year. In my district, teacher's went back to work two Monday's ago, and today was the first day I dropped that cutie off that he didn't break my heart screaming and crying as I walked out the door.

Back to the mixed feelings....Being with my little man everyday this summer was so much fun, and I wish I could do it all year long, but for our family, its just not a possibility right now. So I am back at school, and I love teaching, I really do, but it has been a hard transition. With all that being said, I have had a ton of fun setting up my classroom this year and am looking forward to meeting my new group of kiddos that I will get to spend the year with! I am hoping this blog will be a fun way to keep me excited about what's happening in our classroom. Most of what I do is borrowed from awesome teacher blogs or tpt, but I'm hoping everyone once in awhile I'll have something original to share that can maybe inspire someone else!

I'll leave you with a more recent picture of my now ONE year old little boy, where did the time go....
